Regardless, he’s a happy little fella, who is a constant source of joy and amusement for us.

At times I find myself wanting to bolt from places to come home and see him.

Take last night for instance. I was at the Canucks game with a friend. And maybe because the tickets were free, and the team is about as exciting as my first visit to the co-op in Vanderhoof, I found myself regretting I hadn’t come home to see him to bed.

I didn’t think I would ever feel this way, but it may be the only time we have a little baby to hang out with, so time is precious. And with work getting in the way, I only have two or three hours on weekdays to see him – most of which is spent giving him a bath and getting him ready for bed.

Bogus penny stocks

January 29, 2007

I grabbed the text below from an e-mail at work.

Do people actually respond and invest in this stuff? As an investor, I’d be pretty freaked out if my broker couldn’t even spell the word stock. Secondly, I’m not so sure I want “inner information” – it sounds more illegal than insider information.

I think I’m going to “take my paper and count” on this one.

Nevertheless, I’m glad this person was nice enough to apologize for spamming me.

The post:

Day two

Nice jump. I am glad thet you had belive me.You will not regret of it.
The Beauty of the penny sttock arena is that issues appreciate so rapidly!
A bit of inner information and returns of 1000% are not unheard of.
With lucrative deals in China American Unity Investments (AUNI) is entirely where you want to be.

AUNI ^ OB yesterday effect:
Bid rise from 0.11 to 0.25
Ask rise from 0.22 to 0.29
Dayly high x.30
Priice rise today even more then best intention +81.25% . Now it x.29

Take your paper and count. Or jump in.

What will be next ? Today it will show us … what it can do on 3th day.
It has more growth implicit then i even projected .
But i will not change my projected price yet.
And next will be very HOT! times.
Todays forecast:+31% +0.9(0.38) at least
and +44% +0.13(0.42) at most

AUNI will easily reach $1.00 mark once results are announced!

Also i am really sorry for this letter. Soon then i decide how to unsubbsscribe
some of the readers, it will become opt.

Back in the game

January 29, 2007

Thanks to my shiny new 15.4″ MacBook Pro, I’m no longer forced to watch scads of reality TV while my blog gathers dust. Yes, I’m back in the blogging game.

It took awhile to come to terms with dropping $3,700 CDN on a new computer. I still think a TV should last 20 years, and I feel the same way about computers. Unfortunately, the nerds of the world don’t share my view, and I’m forced to dip into my pockets to buy a new computer every four or five years.

I must admit, however, I’m lovin’ this new machine. At first I was going to go for a MacBook, but after looking around, I realized it just wasn’t worth it. With this machine, I can enjoy some Civ 4 action, while Momma J can design on it for a few years to come.

To the faithful few

January 16, 2007

I’ve been a little remiss in posting these last few weeks, but I’m hoping to get back to it soon. The reason I’ve been away is a technological/space issue.

Last month, the little guy moved from his basinet in the hall to his room, which happens to also be the computer room (we live in a pretty small space). Since he hits the sack around 7 p.m., and doesn’t appreciate me typing away, I’ve been staying off my blog. We are going to fix this situation soon by purchasing a brand new laptop, so I should be back to regular posts in the next week or so.

See you then!

Smiles, laughs and a good night’s sleep

January 9, 2007

The little guy has developed quite a personality.

I’m finding I rush home from work to see him these days. Apart from being generally cute, he’s starting to laugh and focus more on myself and Momma J.

Tonight he was taking a short nap at five when I came home, but when he heard me, he started crying. Once he was up, he was a happy little bugger.  We are finding he likes to sit with us at the dinner table and watch us eat. It seems like he’s a lot like his mom – a lover or ritual.

Once we’re done, we do the evening chores and send him to bed around 7:30 or so. He’s been going down great, and I’m starting to worry I’m going to become one of those parents who fear being out past his bedtime because it’s nice that he goes down so easily. Again, he seems like his mom in this regard, who also happens to be sleeping at 8 p.m. tonight.

What’s scary about all of this, is the fact I feel I’m going soft. I used to think the little fella would have to adapt to our schedule if we were out. For the most part this has been true, but after messing him up a lot over the holidays, I’m beginning to enjoy an early-to-bed routine myself.

It gives me a chance to have some down time from work, so I can recharge for the next day, as well as sit down and do some blogging.

Sick baby, lucky parents

January 6, 2007

Momma J and I live in constant wonderment about how lucky we are. Even when the little guy is sick he doesn’t put up much of a fuss.

In the past couple of days the little guy hasn’t been himself. When left alone, instead of playing with his jungle-gym thingy, he lays on the floor and whines. Being dull parents with too much child time on our hands, we’ve analyzed the crap out of his behaviour, thinking it may be a sign that he is growing up and getting bored with the tiny apartment we live in.

However, after a meltdown at his great grandma’s this afternoon that resulted in some heavy coughing, we realized he must finally have caught our germs.

Considering the fact we have both been sick twice in December, it is pretty amazing that he hasn’t fallen victim to our colds earlier. In the past few weeks, we’ve both been waiting for him to fall ill because he isn’t breast feeding that much, nor is there much room around this place to avoid one another.

Now that we think he’s sick – you can never be sure, cause he can’t tell us – we are once again amazed at how good he is. Yes he’s fussy. And yes he’s not himself. But he’s relatively easy to deal with, and for the most part he is just sleeping and eating a heck of a lot more.

I’ve read this could last seven to 10 days, which could be a little trying. Nevertheless, I find that it’s kind of nice to finally face some adversity in parenting because I’m pretty sure there is going to be a whole lot more to come.

Still away, but I’ll return

January 4, 2007

I’ve been terribly sick and busy these past two weeks, hence no posts. I plan to be back blogging next week once I have a new laptop set-up outside the little guy’s new room.

For the next few days, I’m going to spend the next few days resting my terrible cough and pounding head. Hopefully I’ll be back to 100 per cent next week.
