Starbucks tipping debate

I can’t believe there was two-year debate on tipping at Starbucks.

For me it’s simple: Starbucks is a fast food joint. There is absolutely no reason to tip.

When I go, which is very, very rare, I have to wait in a long line. My coffee is given to me over the counter. I pick it up myself and add the cream and sugar to a substandard, watery product. I drink it there or I leave.

At McDonald’s I order my food. It’s put on a tray for me. I carry it to the condiment area. I add ketchup, etc. It’s a substandard cheeseburger and fries. I eat in or take out.

Average product + no service = no tip.

Holidays!

I’m finally taking a week off of work. It’ll be nice to not have to leave this cute little face every moring.

I’ll also be able to take some time to do some heavy blog reading. It’s something I’ve been meaing to do for awhile but haven’t had a chance to get at.

I’m also feeling good about my goaltending. I finally had a good game tonight. Hopefully it continues.
